About ZipForge
ZipForge exists because a simple task — putting files into a ZIP archive — shouldn't require installing software or uploading your documents to a stranger's server.
Most online compression tools are upload services in disguise: your files travel to their infrastructure, get processed there, and come back. That model is convenient for the operator, but it forces you to trust their security, their retention policy and their intentions with every file you hand over.
We built ZipForge the other way around. The entire compression and extraction engine runs inside your browser, powered by fflate, a fast open-source compression library. Your files are read into your device's own memory, processed by your own CPU, and returned to you as a download. Our server only delivers the page itself — it never sees a single byte of your files.
What we offer
Two focused tools, both free with no account, no watermark and no daily limits: a ZIP creator that bundles and compresses any files into an archive with adjustable compression levels, and a ZIP extractor that lets you inspect and download the contents of any archive. Both work on desktop, Android and iOS, in English and French.
How the site is funded
ZipForge is supported by non-intrusive display advertising. Ads fund the hosting and development; they never interfere with the tools, and they have no access to your files — nothing about your files ever leaves your browser's memory.
